Suhasini Bali

Suhasini Bali is a Manager in the Gender Equality, Disability, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) practice of MSC in India.

She is a feminist development practitioner with nearly a decade of experience working to advance gender equality, social justice, and inclusion across grassroots and systems-level development. Her work has spanned gender, disability, climate resilience, livelihoods, public health, and rights-based development, with a particular focus on strengthening the agency and collective leadership of women and marginalised communities. Her areas of expertise include GEDSI strategy and mainstreaming, feminist and intersectional research, gender-transformative programming, women’s economic empowerment, inclusive climate action, safeguarding, and capacity building. Her journey began in the field, working alongside farmers, women’s collectives, adolescent girls, and rural communities, and has since evolved across grassroots development, research, advocacy, consulting, and programme implementation. This experience has shaped her participatory and rights-based approach to working with communities, organisations, and institutions. At MSC, Suhasini works at the intersection of gender, disability, climate, and social inclusion, supporting clients and partners to build more equitable and responsive programmes, policies, and systems. She brings experience in developing GEDSI strategies and frameworks, conducting intersectional assessments, strengthening inclusive governance and institutional capacity, and generating evidence to inform policy and programme design. Before joining MSC, Suhasini worked with Digital Green, Sattva Consulting, ASTHA, Jagori Grameen, and PRADAN. This experience across community, civil society, research, and consulting spaces informs her practice of connecting lived realities and community-led perspectives with institutional and systems-level change. She holds a master’s degree in Social Work (Public Health) from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai, and a bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Childhood Studies from the University of Delhi. She is certified in Facilitating Gender Transformative Evaluations by the Institute of Social Studies Trust (ISST) and has completed the Disability, Sexuality and Rights Institute by CREA. She has worked across India and South and Southeast Asia and is fluent in Hindi and English.
