Sonal Jaitly

Associate Partner

Sonal Jaitly is an Associate Partner in MSC’s Digital Inclusive Development domain in India. She leads the Gender Equality and Social Inclusion Practice at MSC. She is a gender and development finance professional with more than 14+ years of experience through projects with development banks, international funding agencies, UN Women, MFIs, and community-based institutions in India.

Her areas of expertise include research and analysis across a range of gender equality issues, project management, and program design for enhancing women’s financial inclusion and economic empowerment. She specializes in promoting women-led enterprises, gender mainstreaming with the financial sector, integrating insights from behavioral sciences, and using technology and digital financial services to enhance inclusion. She has worked extensively on issues that constrain the growth of women-led small enterprises, the adoption of digital financial services, and violence against women in public spaces.

Before joining MSC, Sonal Jaitly was Theme Leader—Gender at the Small Industries Development Bank of India, where she led the bank’s women’s enterprise development and poverty alleviation programs. She has also led multi-country programs for ending violence against women during her tenure at UN Women. She recently led the “Digital Economy working group” for the G20 Ministerial Conference on Women Empowerment (MCWE) under Indonesia’s G20 Presidency in 2022. She led the conceptualization and design of the Mentorship platform launched by G20 Empower India. She has been author and contributor to several seminal reports on gender equality. 

Sonal holds a Master’s in Business Administration with a specialization in International Business from the Western International University in the USA. She is fluent in English and Hindi.
