Raunak is an Associate Partner in MSC’s Country Program Development Domain in Indonesia. He is responsible for co-creating and implementing technology-enabled financial inclusion projects for the public and private sectors in developing economies. He has more than 13 years of experience in developing strategies to expand access to finance for the poor and advising financial institutions to implement innovative and cost-effective technology-enabled delivery channels.
Over the years, he has advised more than 50 financial services providers and implemented collaborative financial inclusion projects with a range of stakeholders including donors, multi-laterals, private sector players (microfinance institutions, commercial banks), and the government. He is a certified expert in financial inclusion strategy, market research, process re-engineering, product development, project management, and institutional capacity building. His domain-level expertise is in the field of microfinance, digital financial inclusion, and micro-enterprise financing. He has worked in some of the least-developed and emerging market economies across Asia, Africa, and the Pacific including work in Bangladesh, Cambodia, Fiji, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Nepal, Papua New Guinea, The Philippines, Solomon Islands, Tanzania, and Timor-Leste.
Before joining MSC, Raunak worked with Grameen Foundation India where he managed projects aimed at enabling financial inclusion through innovative digital channels. He started his career with Spandana Spoorthy Financial Limited (microfinance institution), where he was responsible for managing the microfinance operations of the company in the division (8-12 districts) – a portfolio of over USD 8.3 million, which was spread across 32 branches. He holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Management from the Institute of Rural Management, Anand, India, and a Bachelor in Commerce from Banaras Hindu University, India. He is fluent in English and Hindi.
