Edwin Mensah is an Associate Partner and Domain Leader in MSC’s Francophone Africa. He works in Dakar, Senegal, and has more than 15 years of experience gained through projects with development banks, international funding agencies, financial service providers, mobile money operators, and community-based institutions in Senegal, Gambia, Togo, Benin, Ivory Coast, Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger, Kenya, Uganda, and Morocco.
His work outside Africa took him to Fiji, Vanuatu, Thailand, Indonesia, France, and the USA. His expertise includes project design, management, implementation, inclusive digital finance, entrepreneurship, SME and agricultural finance, and technical assistance to the public and private sectors. He specializes in developing and implementing affordable and adapted financial products and services for vulnerable communities, such as youth, women, and rural populations.
Before joining MSC, Edwin was a Senior Specialist in several private and public sector entities. This included UN agencies (IFAD, UNCDF, WFP), TechnoServe, and Euronext. He undertook various roles, such as advising central banks, managing policy development, and providing technical assistance to design products and services focusing on inclusive financial sectors, digital finance, and vulnerable communities. He holds master’s degrees with specializations in Economic and Political Development, Development Evaluation, International Business Management, and Capital Markets from Columbia University, New York, Sciences Po, Paris, and ESSEC Business School, Paris. He is fluent in French and English.
