Dr. Uday Pant is a Senior Advisor to MSC for the Digital PFM project. Dr. Pant has retired from the Indian Civil Accounts Service, as the Principal Chief Controller of Accounts, Ministry of Finance, Government of India, in 2016. He was responsible for the financial management of the ministry and 190 offices overseas, budgeting, budget execution, fiscal reporting, internal controls and audit, international training, and technical assistance to developing countries.
Previously, Dr. Pant was the Regional PFM Advisor in South Asia Training and Technical Assistance Center, where he was responsible for training, capacity building, and providing technical assistance in PFM in member countries and Indian states. He has also served as Professor, at the National Institute of Financial Management, where he held a pivotal role in training needs assessments, training, and capacity development in PFM for Indian civil service. Dr. Pant has also worked with ADB in Sri Lanka; UN in Timor Leste, UNDP in Afghanistan, IMF in Nepal. He is the founding member of the Financial Management Resource and Research Society and Center for Social and Management Solutions, India.
