Anant is an Associate Partner in MSC’s Government and Social Impact domain and leads Climate Change & Sustainability (CCS), Urban Resilience & WASH (URAW) and Catalytic Finance (CF) strategic practice groups in India. He is a financial service and development sector professional with more than 17 years of experience through projects with governments, development banks, international funding agencies, MFIs, and community-based institutions in Asia and Africa.
His areas of expertise include developing customer-centric products and channels, focusing on the digital medium, business strategy, process improvements, and business analytics. He also worked with experts across five sectors to recommend the Group of Ministers (GoM) on employment and skill development. Anant also was the Lead Strategy Advisor to support the local administration at the Prime Minister’s constituency—Sewapuri block—and develop a scorecard to foster the spirit of competition across all gram panchayats in the block.
This is Anant’s second stint at MSC. Before joining MSC, he led the advisory practice on financial inclusion, value chains, energy, and the environment. Anant has also worked at ICICI Bank (2006-08), Arohan Financial Services (2014-18), and International Finance Corporation (2018-19). He also had a brief stint as an independent consultant. At Arohan, Anant was the Head of Central Operations. He led a team across four verticals to develop best-in-class operations that helped it evolve into a well-diversified, systemically important non-banking financial company (NBFC). He holds an MBA in Rural Management from the Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA). He is fluent in English, Hindi, and Marathi.
