Youth

Around the world, 1.2 billion youth face multifaceted challenges today that affect their pathways to key milestones. These hurdles include limited access to education, skill development, and financial services. These youth also have fewer opportunities to access dignified employment. Equitable access to financial and skill development services is critical to support the empowerment of young people aged between 15 and 24 worldwide.

MSC has a long history of working with institutions, policymakers, and thought leaders to develop gender-inclusive and market-based solutions for the youth sector. Our areas of expertise within the youth sector include behavioral research and analysis, training services, product development, and program implementation, monitoring, and management. Our programs and interventions focus on creating sustainable and meaningful outcomes for empowering youth. In our engagements focused on youth development, we have partnered with the private sector, non-profit organizations, government agencies, and financial institutions across Africa and Asia.

MSC has more than two decades of experience in making financial services work for youth and various youth sub-segments. This extends to sub-segments such as youth in rural areas, youth engaged in informal employment, and young people from low- and middle-income segments.

Within employment and skill development, we work in areas, such as entrepreneurship development and youth capacity-building for gainful employment. We conduct market assessments on opportunities for youth employment and employability and develop and deliver training programs that support youth from low-income households to attain technical skills suited to the 21 st century.
