MSC believes that climate change, environmental degradation, and biodiversity loss are among the greatest challenges our world faces today. Therefore, we must integrate considerations of climate change in the design principles of development interventions if we are to achieve universal financial, social, and economic inclusion.
Our work in climate change and sustainability supports solutions on both supply and demand sides. We deepen understanding and enable behavioral change among vulnerable communities to build their capacity for adaptation and resilience to climate change. Today, our focus areas help create climate-resilient agri-food systems, increase access to clean and affordable energy, support adaptation, build resilience to climate risks, and design public and private sector financing strategies for resilient, low-carbon economies.
Our experts draw from deep collective expertise in inclusive finance, digital technologies, public sector transformation, and catalytic finance to develop solutions that enhance resilience and pave the way toward a low-carbon future.
As the co-chair of the CIFAR Alliance’s “Climate Resilient Agriculture” and “Elevating the Voices of Affected People” working groups, MSC contributes to thought leadership on innovations in digital technologies and inclusive financial services that seek to strengthen the resilience of agri-food systems, MSMEs, migrants, and other vulnerable communities.
We also manage a virtual collaborative platform, the “Climate Resilient Agriculture – Virtual Club,” which offers interactions between technology-enabled startups, venture funds, and NGOs that work at the intersection of climate change and agriculture.
