Key Skills:
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in English, Business Management, or related fields.
  • At least three to five years (Assistant Manager) or five to seven years (Manager) of experience in business development, tender or procurement management, proposal writing, database management, project management, executive assistance, technical writing, international development, consulting, banking, financial sectors, or similar areas. Applicants with relevant backgrounds are also encouraged to apply.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and PowerPoint. Strong skills in Microsoft Excel (including macros) and other Google-supported databases.
Job Description:

As an Executive Manager, the team member will support the Strategic Initiatives/Business Development team. Responsibilities include identifying bid opportunities by scouting various donor and client websites, coordinating with technical teams to support the proposal development process, managing documentation and maintaining databases in MS Excel and MS Word, synthesising and analysing data to derive insights, and preparing presentations to communicate these insights. The role also involves conducting donor, competitor, and partner analyses, contributing to the proposal review and writing process, independently initiating new business or partnership development with technical teams, and collaborating with emerging area leaders to establish their thematic focus areas as vertical business lines within MSC.

Responsibilities:
  • Scan and scout new business opportunities and tenders on various client/donor websites.
  • Comprehend RFPs, Terms of Reference (ToRs), and Expressions of Interest (EOIs); coordinate with technical teams for end-to-end EOI and proposal development.
  • Understand MSC’s past work/projects and their relevance to current RFPs/EOIs.
  • Proactively scout donors, strategic partners, and consultants; document, nurture, and build these relationships.
  • Prepare compelling capability statements and pitch decks for business development.
  • Analyse data on proposal submissions, win rates, and opportunities; present findings to senior management.
  • Maintain and update databases in MS Word and MS Excel; coordinate with technical teams for updates.
  • Support report preparation (MS Excel, PPT, Word), donor scoping, competitor analysis, quarterly proposal reporting, collaterals, and other documents.
  • Coordinate and communicate with external consultants/associates for existing or prospective opportunities.
  • Build MSC’s brand presence in emerging areas; liaise with internal points of contact, organize, and support meetings.
  • Coordinate with internal teams (Administration, Knowledge Management, Finance/Legal) as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Desirable knowledge of the financial services sector, financial inclusion in developing countries, and the role of digital in financial inclusion; general awareness of sector developments and major donors.
  • Experience in high-level or C-level executive search, facilitating partnerships, or business development is an added advantage.
  • Willingness to work in a demanding, results-oriented team environment with frequently changing priorities.
  • Ability to work in a deadline-bound environment and beyond regular working hours when required.
  • Ability to update data fields, synthesise data, and conduct rigorous data analytics.
  • Good team player with the ability to work with a global team and self-starter willing to take initiative.
  • Ability to present to internal teams for training effectively or external teams to provide company overview and capabilities.
  • Solid knowledge of the English language, with the ability to write concise and articulate business emails with little to no supervision.
