Description:
The Manager - Payments and Distribution should have responsibilities that will not be limited to:
Business Development:
  • Foster connections with both existing and prospective clients within the payments and distribution sector, including banks, mobile financial service providers, mobile network operators, FinTechs, startups, and government think-tanks and regulators.
  • Take proactive measures to enhance client relationships, aiming to cultivate a project pipeline within the digital finance sector.
  • Contribute as an author or co-author to thematic publications derived from field experiences (Focus notes/Briefing notes).
  • Actively participate in Digital Media discussions, including blogs and forums.
  • Assist in the development and submission of proposals to generate business as needed.
  • Establish connections with junior staff at client organizations to gather information and data relevant to assignments.
  • Actively participate in marketing activities such as workshops, international events, and plenary discussions.
Business Implementation
  • Actively engage in the setup and debriefing meetings for assignments within the P&D domain
  • Take charge of teams consisting of 3 to 4 members during supervised assignments, including field visits
  • Play a leading role in the report writing and data analysis process
  • Execute assignments with the highest level of diligence, meticulous attention to detail, and a focus on maintaining quality
  • Contribute to the review of training courses, research papers, curriculum, and technical assistance provided to clients in the P&D domain
  • Assist in the coordination of national-level events and workshops for MSC, Bangladesh
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of MSC's tool kits and various publications.
Professional Development
  • Perform assessments on "Quality of Delivery" and provide feedback to team members following assignment execution, adhering to quality control guidelines.
  • Aid and facilitate the growth of fellow staff members by offering guidance and advice as needed.
  • Take responsibility for personal development by acquiring skills and knowledge that contribute value to the organization.

Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Post graduate degree from a reputed institute or a graduate degree from a tier 1 institute.
  • A master’s degree in economics, public/business administration, social sciences or a related field is desirable.
  • A bachelor’s degree in any science, engineering, commerce or a related field is compulsory.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of devoted work experience in operationalizing business within the digital financial services sector, along with a comprehensive understanding and evaluation of regulatory and policy aspects, and expertise in digital identification, is obligatory.
  • Preferred qualifications include experience in cultivating relationships with banks, fintech firms, entities involved in financial inclusion, government bodies, and think tanks in India.
  • Proficiency in product development, market research skills, and business strategy.
  • Proficiency in Stakeholder Management, vendor relationship management, and oversight of key resources such as UIDAI, DFS, MeiTY, MoRD, banks, digital wallets, and vendors is expected.
Desired Skills and Competencies:
  • Exceptional writing and presentation abilities.
  • Enthusiastic about driving digital transformation for substantial impact, possessing strategic thinking and action capabilities.
  • Adept problem-solver with strong structuring and analytic skills.
  • Must have experience in business intelligence and analysis, UPI, and product development.
  • Proficient in conceptualising and finalising.
  • Willingness to travel
  • Ideal to have some relevant experience in consulting or research.
  • Have experience in the payments industry, banking industry, or consulting space.
