Anup leads MSC’s regional office in Africa and heads the Helix Institute based in Nairobi, Kenya. He has more than 17 years of experience. His expertise includes strategic planning, implementation, policy reviews, product innovation, business process reengineering, monitoring and evaluation, risk management, technical assistance, and change management. He has advised more than 200 institutions.

This includes governments, FinTechs, financial institutions, AgTechs, InsurTechs, investors, and multilateral organizations. With his varied experience in government and social sector advisory, banking and financial services, MSME finance, and private sector development, he has supported the development of strategies, products, processes, systems, and solutions for low- and moderate-income populations. He has worked in Africa and Asia and has provided strategic and operational advisory support to catalyze financial institutions to adopt user-centered design and innovations. He is a faculty member at the Boulder Institute of Microfinance, Turin.

Before joining MSC, Anup worked as an Associate with the Centre for Microfinance in Chennai. He advised various financial institutions, such as Fullerton, Cashpor, and Spandana, to design and implement enterprise financing and value chain lending products. Anup also worked with agricultural finance and livelihood service providers, such as BAIF and BILT, to develop and reengineer value chains. He holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Forest Management from the Indian Institute of Forest Management, Bhopal, India. Anup is fluent in English and Hindi.
